SERVICE ACADEMY PREDICTIONS – WEEK 5

All three Service Academy teams have good opportunities to come up victorious this weekend as Army hosts UTEP, Navy visits Tulsa and Air Force travels to New Mexico. Here are your predictions for week 5.

Saturday, September 30

UTEP AT ARMY, 3:30 PM ET, (CBS SPORTS NETWORK)

Army likely has the best chance of all three SA of winning on Saturday.  UTEP (0-4)  has been atrocious this season on both sides of the ball.  The Black Knights destroyed the Miners last season 66-14.  I see no reason for it to be any different this season as long as the BKs show up mentally.

Prediction: Army 48, UTEP 17

NAVY AT TULSA, 3:30 PM ET, (ESPN)

Undefeated Navy visits a good Tulsa team.  Tulsa, as always, puts up a bunch of points but gives up a lot too.  Navy usually thrives against teams like this with their ball control offense and the Mids opportunistic defense.  The Mids should win in a high-scoring affair.

Prediction: Navy 52, Tulsa 27
AIR FORCE AT NEW MEXICO, 5 PM MT, (CBS SPORTS NETWORK)

The Falcons fell to the Lobos last season in a thriller, 45-40.  This season both teams seem a little less formidable after heavy losses of key personnel following the 2016 season.  However, Air Force has played two top 25 teams in their three games this season and played them tough.  I think the Falcons will take care of business on the road.

Prediction:  Air Force 34, New Mexico 22
