Schedule is fine, if a bit weak at home.......only question is why play TWO FCS teams in Morgan State and VMI...I am certain that we could have found another school from the FBS to play us at Michie.....we should be favored in at least 9 games

All of a sudden no MAC schools, including Buffalo.
I don't expect to see any on our schedule in the future. Army is most likely a loss now for a MAC team and the possibility of a blowout for the better (best) teams can't be appealing at all. If Buffalo's only loss this season is to Army and that a blowout loss, I don't think too many MAC teams would be lining up to schedule Army.
We have 5 MAC teams on the schedule already 2 and 3 years out.

Yeah, I'm glad to see that for 2022 and 2023. Once the slew of new FBS teams and the new conference alignments shake out, Army should not have a hard time scheduling FBS opponents. Maybe not the same cast of characters as in the past but there are a lot of new teams.

As always seems to be the case, too many folks forget how far in advance many of these decisions get made. Football is the only sport without much suspense in the annual schedule announcement press releases. Did anyone see any surprises on there, say in comparison to what we’ve seen on the different websites that follow this stuff? If so, I missed it.

The other thing that seems pretty obvious, to me at least, is that success as an independent will eventually make scheduling a whole lot harder! Yes, that’s a great problem to have, but one that will likely cost us eventually.

Only 'surprises' were the move of Rice to Week 1 and the insertion of UTSA as a 13th game. Not really surprising.

Personally I don't care who Army plays as long as they win. When I lived in the Midwest, it was easy road trips to see them play NIU, EMU, etc but now that I'm in the Southeast, I'm glad they'll be playing Liberty and Georgia State among others.

With the list of new FBS entrants, our pool of FBS teams is growing. We will have no problem with future scheduling in my opinion. I like the diversity of teams instead of playing the same old teams year after year with little chance of scheduling other teams you would like to play.
Besides playing the same teams all the time, it would be easier to learn our option system which I think Navy and Air Force are now experiencing being stuck in conferences.

You're right about the new FBS entrants. Out to 2026 we've got games with Liberty, Coastal Carolina, UMass. Also Wake Forest and Syracuse is on the schedule almost every year. Add the annual AF and Navy games and that's 7 games. Add a team like Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, LSU each year (I know not everyone like these games)

I don't think scheduling FBS opponents will be difficult in the future. There will be a lot of schools that don't want to play Army and a lot others that do.

Most teams love to play Army BUT ONLY at their place. Never will play us at Michie.
Playing money games are good for the money, but they wont ever play us at our house. That bugs me to no end. These one and done games only in their stadium just gets me livid. There insistence in playing us at their place all the time is just unfair.

That's how collegw football works nowadays. Besides, we get 1 and 1's every once in awhile. See Stanford and Oklahoma
