Army Football Three Keys: UTSA

Army Football Three Keys

Army visits UTSA on Saturday in San Antonio. Here are your three keys to an Army win over UTSA.

Key 1 – Key 1 – Forget Michigan

Saturday was a tough day for everyone in the Army Nation and probably the Service Academy Nation. The Black Knights came so close to winning but in the end, it was just another game. Just like Rice, UTSA or whatever. Army lost a football game. It only counts as one loss. The team needs to move on and forget about Michigan. Don’t let the Michigan loss turn into two losses.

Key 2 – Get the running game going

Army has played well for the most part in the first two games but the rushing attack’s production is way off of what it was in 2018. In its first two games Army has averaged 215 yards per game rushing. The 2018 team averaged 312.5 yards per game rushing. Granted, Army has played two very good first defensive teams but the Black Knights still need to get that option, rushing attack going.

Key 3 – Defense continues to shine

Army’s defense has been nothing less than spectacular in the Black Knight’s first two games. Army is currently 28th nationally in scoring defense (15.5 ppg) and 14th in Red Zone defense. This isn’t about the Black Knights having big, burly players who overwhelm opponents. It’s about good coaching and great young men who follow the plan and give their all in every second of every single play.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3:30 ET. Watch on the NFL Network.
