Re: Mike Buddie
Tarelton State. That says it all. Do you mean to tell me that i the best Mik Buddie could do for this program?
He only has two games to pick on a -game schedule and he comes up with a team nobody heard of.
Is anyone going to come and watch this farce of a contest?
Why are we only playing only 5 home games???
The man was lazy, incompetent and ran away at the first chance he got without completing the restoration process on a 200-million deal.
Another guy using WP as a stepping stone to further his lofty agenda.
We don't need guys like him or Udoh to grace the post where duty, honor and country does play into all this.
My take.
I'm tired of all these phonies.

Re: Mike Buddie
The major coaching decision Buddie made in his time at Army is firing Jimmy Allen and hiring Kuwik, which has looked like a colossal mistake so far. To say that the men have looked out of sorts this year is being generous. I'm not torn up to see him go.

Re: Mike Buddie
He got offered a better job and probably with more money ... I hate to see people leave, but it's not like he's going to be the AD for Little Sisters of The Poor (or Tarleton State!). This is a significant step up for him, and I wish him the best. Next man up!RABBLE wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 2:59 pm Tarelton State. That says it all. Despite what some people think, WP is NOT the top job in the country for coaches or ADs. It is not dishonorable to pursue the next step in your career, even if it takes you away from Woo Poo U.
And please stop badmouthing Udoh - how is he a "phony?" What did he do to deserve that? He's a 20 year old kid making major life decisions. Maybe he'll be happy, maybe he'll regret leaving -- that's on him. But leave the kid alone and let him pursue his dream.
It's easy to type words like lazy and phony when you sit behind a keyboard.

While I agree with the sentiment, it is kind of a funny way to put it as "you sit behind a keyboard"ArmorDude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 6:25 pmHe got offered a better job and probably with more money ... Re: Mike Buddie
These guys who use the portal are nothing more than money grabbers using a corrupt system which should never been started by the NCAA. I mean ALL of them, not just Udoh. You are in college to get an education and NOT a convenient way to just make money.kfan12 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 9:25 amWhile I agree with the sentiment, it is kind of a funny way to put it as "you sit behind a keyboard"ArmorDude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 6:25 pmHe got offered a better job and probably with more money ... College football is finished. They have taken the word COLLEGE out of a game that was once the greatest spectacle in sport.
Who cares who wins the national championship anymore? They are all semi-pros anyway.
If you want to play for pay, earn it in the NFL. Otherwise , go get a damn job in the working world.
You REALLY need a education for that. I am sick of it all.

Re: Mike Buddie
On what, exactly? Kanye Udoh has every right to use the transfer portal to play at the very top level of NCAA football. Surely that was his dream growing up playing the game. Best of luck to him, he's chasing that dream.dillondobies wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:58 am Sad to say, but strip away the anger, and Rabble's got it right.
On Mike Buddie? People leave jobs for bigger companies with bigger pay all the time. I am not a Buddie fan at all, but obviously he's made a decision that is best for his career.
When Monken hires an assistant from Kennesaw State, is that just a money grab and disloyal departure?

I think there is a loyalty/responsibility shortfall when you initiate a $170 million project and then walk away early in its execution.
I accept the reality that people move to higher paying jobs all the time.
Finishing a job is the mark of a good leader, so perhaps we don't need Mr. Buddie's leadership anyway.

Re: Mike Buddie
Buddie didn't obtain a better bowl because he was too busy shopping himself.
May he and TCU fall apart.

Re: Mike Buddie
Can’t say I agree with this. We are 2nd in the Patriot League right now. I can’t think of anytime in the past 30 years where we’ve been a contender in a conference.
The baseball coaching situation was handled well too. Find another school to take our successful but problematic head coach and replace him with someone equally successful but less problematic.
Many of our smaller-revenue sports are doing well too. Not sure who hired our swimming coach but they’re much better now, beating Navy for the first time in decades.
I think Buddie did a pretty good job in his time at West Point.
