Who is our 12th 2020 opponent?

Obviously our 2019 schedule is locked in with 13 opponents (due to hawaii game) to include 1-AA Morgan State and VMI

our 2021 schedule is locked in with 12 opponents to include Bucknell

Anyone have insider information on our 2020 schedule? Currently online there are 11 teams listed, including 1-AA Bucknell, but wondering if we might know who is our 12th opponent? Here are the 11 current opponents
09/05 - Bucknell
09/12 - at Rice
09/19 - at Tulane
09/26 - Oklahoma
10/03 - at Miami (Ohio)
10/10--OPEN (note: this was a North Texas Game before they backed out)
10/17 - Eastern Michigan
10/24 - Buffalo
10/31-OPEN
11/7 Air Force
11/14 - at San Jose State
11/21 - at UMass
12/12 - vs Navy (in Philadelphia, PA)

I mention our 1-AA opponents because my guess is that the remaining 2020 slot is going to be filled by one. A quick glance at IVY league schedule shows that many teams (e.g., Harvard; Penn) do not have games on 10/10. I bet we fill that 10/10 slot with an IVY league team

Pretty good logic. Another possibility is New Mexico State which is Independent and has only 11 games scheduled.

Good guess. they actually have 12 on the site i see, but one of them is hawaii, so they could do a 13th and they have an opening on the 31st

I also see New Mexico state as a permanent fixture in our schedule, just like UMASS has become, and am hoping that eventually we sign a long term deal with BYU as well.

Would personally love the
(2) Air Force and Navy
(1) Big boy like LSU
(1) 1 sorta big boy like Duke or Wake or Syracuse
(4) 4 independents almost like a conference in BYU, NM state, Liberty and UMASS
(2) Two high academic 1-AA's like Ivy League or Local flavor (colgate, etc)
(2) Two Conf USA teams a year like WKU and UTSA or MAC like Buffalo/Miami

I think unless we join a conference, the above is the best we are going to get

I doubt we get a second FCS opponent unless we absolutely have no other choice. With the movement of Dartmouth to 2024, we now no longer have 2x FCS opponents on any future schedules beyond 2019.

As reported in the other thread, we did add an Ivy as our 12th opponent in 2020.

I'll be curious to see if somethign happens with that bucknell game. I don't think it will.....but i'd be curious to see what happens. The obvious 2 opponents, Uconn and NM State, both have games on Sep 3rd, although Uconn's game is versus Umass and UMASS AD has publicly said he realizes that some partnership games have to be flexible, ie, they might be able to move it since both are Indy's and realize how this works.

PRINCETON will be Army's 12th opponent in 2020 to be played in October, 2020.

Duke probably also fits your "high academic" category....

wpgrad...I like your schedule breakdown except for 2 x FCS. If we are building a winning program, then I think we need to stick with 1 FCS per season. We replace that game with a third from C-USA, AAC or MAC each year. A decent schedule for Army would then be:

2 academies
1 “big boy” (Michigan, OU, Notre Dame, etc)
1-2 P5 lower-end (Duke, Wake Forest, Vandy, Rutgers, etc)
1 FCS
2-3 fellow independents
3-4 from Group of 5 conferences

We got 2020 and 2021 already filled and locked in. Nice to be able to see the next 3 years ahead of us. and only 1 FCS in 2021.

But as I posted in the other thread, I don't see a problem with FCS. historically the travel well and buy tickets. And I like us playing elite academic schools like princeton. Good for the overall "brand"
