Prompted by the Athletic piece, AFF does a solid job explaining their take on the new offense.

Re: AFF's take on the new offense.
Solid article as we’ve come to expect from AFF.
One question that’s been asked on this forum that the article hints at (but is not mentioned in the AFF piece) is why Army needs to do something different while AF and Navy continue with the flexbone. The Athletic article says:
1. AF’s offense is different and less impacted by the blocking rule changes (though it doesn’t say why - perhaps someone on the forum has a perspective)
2. Navy IS changing - at least to some extent. Their new OC comes from Kennesaw State and Bohannon went to the pistol last year. Their OC says Navy will run a mix of shotgun and under center.

Regarding 2, heard interview this week where navy head coach said “occasional shotgun” but “primary offense will be under center.”WrekDivr wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 12:38 pm Solid article as we’ve come to expect from AFF.
