BTW: 1st and Goal at the 5 in our First Series

Someone tell Drew Thatcher we don't try to throw the ball and get cute at the 5 yard line and first down. WE are a run first team. Put the ball in the end zone and score.

Rewatching the game and just underwhelmed with this whole thing. That play call on the first drive is totally baffling!

Then we get the ball 1st and goal on the 4 right before half and can't punch it in? First we don't get a push on the first two plays and we are in shotgun. Then we want to throw it to the corner on 3rd and Goal and it's pretty poorly executed.

just amazing. And then Thatcher in his interview talking about we are trying to "find our identity". Wrong answer bud. We are supposed to be a tough physical run based team that converts. We know who we are supposed to be but apparently he missed that meeting.

Frankly it just infuriates me both how we played and some of these decisions.

Spot on on not scoring from inside the red zone. IMO the play calling was the greatest disappointment with last week. Granted you will not win w 5 TO's. But to run so many plays up the middle - by the QB - (yes he is supposed to read and react). But in his first game w a new offense, I really expected the play calling and ADJUSTMENTS at half time to save him and the offense. No traps, mis-directions, option (option?) to the edge.

It re-minded me of past stubborn arrogance that "we will run the play until we execute it and get it right" mentality.

To not have run anything outside except for 1 (?) jet sweep boggled me.
I appreciate Daily is a physical runner but cringed every time he ran into the wall for what turned out to be 2 yards. Players have to play but I put this loss on the Coaching staff.
