$35m in exit fees for Army to join AAC

It' would be like the president of Yale telling us who to schedule, when we play and the site we play and the time we play. Anybody got a brain up there at the academy?

Oh sure, money talks alright but what happens when this second- rate teams of the AAC depart and then what do you do?
Twiddle your thumbs, pay a big exit fee like the last time and then start all over again after Monken moves on or retires.
You know damn well that this league is only a stepping- stone for those teams to a Power 5 conference.

I understand that Army is negotiating those fees into its new deal with the AAC. Plus, not all these deals are signed, especially those down the line, or have out clauses that limit liability.

Rabble as usual you make more sense than anyone. Do we need a scheduling guru to figure out how we can fork over 35 million to be part of a now low tier G5 conference? Does the AAC really want Army so bad where they would be willing pay the 35 million fee to have Army part of their conference? I DON'T THINK SO! Do we really want to be like Navy with losing records year in and year out and be drummed into irrelevance after finally building our football program back up?
How about when the new construction on the stadium is finally completed? Does anyone in their right mind believe having 6 AAC teams playing at Michie stadium is going to sellout ever game? Wasn't that the reason for building the new addition was to have some better P5 teams come in and play there? Once Army gets in the AAC good luck trying to get out of it.
Maybe I should have checked with my guru before posting this, but my guru is not costing me 35 million dollars.

So which of the current teams we have coming to Michie are going to sell out a game? Holy Cross? Deleware State? Maybe Troy? And why would an updated Michie attract any other P5 teams? It's not like they will get part of the gate if we do sell out. Not sure about the whole 35 mill number, but that is for the AD to figure out. We are currently playing CUSA, AAC, Sunbelt, and FCS (8 of 10 games excluding Navy and AF) teams as the bulk of out schedule. I submit that AAC would be an upgrade to schedule quality. Certainly SMU, Tulane, and Rice, are nationally known institutions, if not football powerhouses.

I forget how much it cost us to get out of Conf USA but it was more than enough. And then we struggled for 2 years to get back on track. Now 35 million to get out of future schedules and some very attractive games.. If Conf AAC does not work what will be the exit fee yo leave then. And don't forget the 98 million dollar renovation that will now cost 172 million now and is on hand what about the old stadium because of storm damage and price. Pretty soon its real money

Other than that it is a bunch of teams that are at the same level or below the current AAC roster. Not discounting the cost of buying out of those games, but schedule quality should not be a reason we opt out of the AAC.

And your statement is just as deceptive as you believe mine to be. Except mine does not guild the lilly to imply there are a bunch of other P5 teams on their way to Michie.
