The Crusaders lost only to BC in a nail biter and, listening in on the Cincinnati-BYU game, the announcers were talking about HC as being a FCS title contender. So, we have to hope that Army takes HC seriously and beats them.....otherwise, this could be a tough year.

Yes, went to HC/Yale two weeks ago and HC took it to Bulldogs in Yale home opener. HC O put up 500 yds with QB (senior & captain) who threw at will into zone pockets for 8-9 yds each time (sound familiar?). Kid really played w a ton of confidence and saw the field very well, taking off on many runs too. They had multiple long drives, pulling away in the 2nd half.
Team showed a lot of bravado & many fans traveled to the game, so expect the same at WP.
HC is ranked 5 nationally in FCS poll. They will be a test. No gimme's this year - have to stay focused. Line them up and prepare 1 week at a time.
Was impressed w Army first half last week and O-line was strong & physical. Just need that for 60 minutes, along w no turnovers, bad penalties, good O game plan... but again sound familiar?

I welcome the prospect of a viable FCS opponent at home. I'm convinced that the Delaware State type games do absolutely nothing to prepare the BK's for the more difficult games on the schedule.
BTW, did anyone happen to catch the LSU-Ole Miss game? Looks to me that the Tigers are a tad overrated this year. One of the worst tackling teams I've seen - a back half the size of Buchanan spent the whole night dragging LSU defenders on his back. The BK's have no shot at stopping Daniels & Co. on defense, but could make things interesting vs. LSU's porous defense. I'm hoping for a Wake Forest style basketball score.

I was at the Ole Miss/LSU game on Saturday. LSUs defense leaves something to be desired. The offense, however was pretty darn good. Daniels was outstanding running and throwing the ball. The receivers were outstanding, especially on deep balls to the sidelines. We are going to have our hands full on defense.Armyfaninpa wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:32 pm

Looks like they took one on the chin from Harvard. Still a good FCS team and not an automatic win but a game we should win.

Nothing is automatic whether it is Michigan or Wagner.
I dragged myself to the Rutgers-Wagner game at Rutgers Stadium a couple of days ago. Great Facility. You don't have to climb a step. I went to the handicap area right at ground level with the field below street level.
I can't climb up or down steps much anymore, so the game was enjoyable, even though the score was 52-3.
I didn't mind a bit. At least I could go now to a football game. The shuttle bus dropped me off with my son and just 20 steps to my seat with a great view. Try to get that in Michie. Too many hills anymore for me even though in my day, I saw a couple hundred games in those 75 years of watching my favorite team and venue.
No place like Michie but for me, not the place much anymore (damn it).
I got to admit, it was wonderful to see in person a beautiful 200 plus piece Big 10 college type band perform
pre-game and halftime. it gives you the chills. It reminded of the time I went to Ohio Stadium some years ago to watch Army play Ohio State. 100,000 fans and really exciting like real, real old days in Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia with Army playing Navy. We rarely get those opportunities anymore around here.
That is a big reason why I love college football in person. To me nothing in the sports world can compare to it.
