I hope I am dead wrong.
I personally don't see the problem if, in fact, Monken implemented this offense to get a better job (note: I do not think that is true).

Whats the downside? He implements an offense he thinks will work, and we have success.

There is no way he implemented an offense he didn't think would work at Army, because why would he do that? Nobody is going to hire a guy who is 3-9 at Army running a new offense.

Monken rumored to be just above 2.0 in this newest contract. He goes to a P5 and he's making 5-6M a year, for 5-6 years. There isn't a single one of us that is going to turn down an extra $25M to take a different job.

Army is not a destination job in 2023 when you got 10 schools paying life changing 10m a year. Thus isnt 20 years aog where the pay gap was 300 grand. We should seek to hire coaches who want to do so well that they are coveted by the major programs.

If he made a decision based primarily on his own personal career progression.............

And it happens to align with the best interests of his organization.........

Then okay, I guess to your point: no harm no foul (even though I'm not crazy about the implied priority) AS LONG AS HE DOESN'T CONTINUE TO THROW GOOD MONEY AFTER BAD TRYING TO KEEP THE POWER 5 POSSIBILITY ALIVE.

Like you, I don't want to believe that the rumor is true. Moreover, I also don't blame him for the gun experiment, even though I think it was ill-advised. But mostly I don't want to keep seeing what I am seeing, and that is a failing experiment at Army while air force continues to roll. At some point, sooner rather than later, he's gotta say enough.

And to be precise, a 3 and 9 result this year would be damned quite enough, imho.

I fully agree that our O line must do better and coaching is a big piece of that.

Here is another HUGE issue this year: Turnovers. We’ve turned the ball over 17 times this year (7 lost fumbles and 10 INTs, excluded Delaware State as my source didn’t have stats for that game). We fumbled the ball another 7 times and recovered it.

We had 0 turnovers vs. UTSA (1 fumble that we recovered) which was our best full game by far.

Army’s path to winning involves sustained drives that eat the clock with minimum mistakes and turnovers. We are clearly missing the mark on turnovers.
