I worked with Dave Brown in the past.
He runs a scheduling database. It is quite impressive.
Most likely many of our opponents will play each other.

“Another hurdle is Army’s future football schedules. As an independent, the Black Knights have more than 80 games scheduled in the coming years, with a combined exit fee of more than $35 million, sources tell Yahoo Sports. The school has enlisted scheduling guru Dave Brown in an effort to break free of the agreements or reschedule the games. There is a possibility that Army’s scheduled opponents could conceivably play one another.”
You have good sources, is this jamming them up or just a minor obstacle?

I don’t see $35 million being a major obstacle if everyone wants to get it done. $35 million will get negotiated down to something lower. Then, some of our scheduled opponents will play each other. Finally, it will happen over multiple years so the full amount will not be due all at once.
I am curious how the TV rights will work. ESPN has the AAC rights, but CBS Sports broadcasts Navy games. The only source I could find says that AAC therms get $7 million a year from broadcast rights, but it wasn’t clear if that was for all sports or just football. If it is for all sports, football is likely the lion’s share although the AAC does have some decent basketball teams.

THIS WHOLE SCENARIO of joining the AAC is a huge joke !!.
The main reason for joining a conference was said to be the difficult ability of scheduling football games in future years.
What a bunch of hogwash.
Gee, we can't schedule games in the future but we have to shell out 35 million to those teams we already have scheduled. Boy, that makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
If we say yes to this bolderdash, commit those individuals to the closest looney bin available.
When you start putting Benjamins in front of pure, common sense in retaining some measure of a football program, you have totally lost it.
I guess they want that East Stand Memorial so bad, they will do anything just to build the damn thing.
No extra seats, just build the Hudson River Taj Mahal for the men who sacrificed it all for football and glory.
You want the most beautiful memorial to our cadets on post who REALLY sacrificed their lives and sacred honor? Just look to the statue of the three soldiers in combat uniform overlooking Lusk dedicated to THE AMERICAN SOLDIER. Fix up what we got at Michie and the place will last another 100 years,
The money we have donated from the very generous graduates should be spent on the already erected infrastructure, and not some new glorified monument that will serve no purpose except to satisfy the overblown egos of those who want to build it.
By the way, do something worthwhile instead of trying to join a conference. Just make a concerted effort to bring back that beautiful 9- foot statue of Earl Blaik, now resting at the present college football Hall of Fame now in Atlanta. Put it in a respectful place at Michie. That alone should satisfy those who might have an ego problem and those RlEALLY interested in the legacy of the Army football program.
Hey, maybe someday we could have another statue up the hill with the name of Jeff Monken inscribed on it. Who knows what could lurk in the heart of men if things work out. You never know.
Camm down fans. Army Football is better than ever. If it isn't broken, please don't mess with it. Please.
Just my opinion of a long-long time non-grad fan Of West Point and i'ts beloved football team.
I guess it is my plea. Consider its worth which is scant little but still, I will make it
