If you can't rely on the QB to hit the wide open short and mid-range passes, you can't call them. That isn't a weakness of the offense, it is a weakness of the player.

Until the O line figures out how to block, we might be better off running heavier backs in there to pound on the defense. Daily is tough, but he isn't going to wear down the D.

Army is simply not routinely creating holes/running lanes, leaving very little margin for error.

Last two weeks:

8 turnovers and 14 points off of those turnovers. That's actually pretty hard to do.

My point is that that we had 7 drives in the game ( excluding the one at the end of 1H) and we scored on two of them and one we held the ball long enough to end the game. That leaves 4 drives.

Here is how they played out:
1. Holding call that put us in 1st and 20. We gained 17 yards after that and punted. Without the penalty, we at least get a second set of downs.
2. The drive that got us to 1st and goal, then we got a penalty that cost us 10 yards and made it 1st and 11. Should have scored, but the penalty hurt.
3. Holding on 1st down makes it 1st and 20. We get 15 yards on the next 3 plays and punt. Without the penalty, we get at least one first down.
4. No penalty and we get one first down, then punt on the next set of downs.

So on the 3 of the 4 series we did not score a 10-yard penalty put us in a tough situation. Even last year we would be challenged to consistently convert 1st and 20.
