All this money. As an old-timer, I remember Paul Deitzel from LSU who just won a national Championship who then coached at Army was paid a total salary of $20,000 per year. 1962 was sure not 2024.
A purely amateur sport in those days might as well be called a pro- business today. I don't think for the better either.
They say the good old days were better. I don't know about that but my wallet sure felt better. Fatter too.
