In my opinion , the whole conference is stupid.wpgrad wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 11:21 am I am not sure there is a long line of colleges looking to steal away an OC who runs under center option. There is a reason why no one hired Ken and Monkens been here 11 years
That said…team looks great so far in all aspects (navy does too)
I secretly hope army and navy finish 1-2 in conference so we can expose the stupidity of playing each other 2 weeks in a row (and see how fast that tv contract gets changed after that)
Agree with this. Kind of felt like all the other games previously (besides Air Force, Navy, and the occasional marquee opponent) were just like "Can we use this as one of our 6 wins to get to a Bowl Game?" Now there's at least something else in play, in terms of conference positioning and the like. Even if doesn't relate to a conference championship game, the higher they finish, the better an AAC- affiliated bowl game they end up in.gabn92 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 11:59 am We know Rabble...and we know you hate Notre Dame and wish Army wouldn't play them anymore. Yada, yada, yada.
I will say I'm enjoying the additional exposure and coverage Army is getting as a member of the AAC now. See other post about power rankings in the AAC as an example of how there is more attention on the team simply by being in a conference.
I'm also enjoying the added inventive of a conference championship to play for. Army's not going to win a national championship in football, but winning a conference championship is attainable, even if challenging. I would imagine the players are enjoying the added goal to be playing for as well.

OK...lol...what are the 4 topics Rabble talks about? I can think of 3:thedoc85 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 1:08 pm31,000+ posts.RABBLE wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:53 pmIn my opinion , the whole conference is stupid.wpgrad wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 11:21 am I am not sure there is a long line of colleges looking to steal away an OC who runs under center option. 4 topics.
Back in my day? True.RABBLE wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:21 pm Number 4?
Well, I like to win
Number 5?
I like to be competitive in EVERY game we play. That excludes all semi-pro teams like Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Notre Dame and teams that pay out millions to players in the transfer portal. We can be such competitive with almost all other teams if we wanted to. The problem is we don't. We join sub-par conferences with no rivalries, no real interest but the money we will receive from a conference and the tv deals we get from them. We are losing our prestige with a big letter A on the front of our jersies and yet we don't put the names of the players on the back of the jersies to give the fans, yes the fans, the added enjoyment of knowing who is who while sitting in the stands.
Proving to me once again that the administration doesn't give a damn abot its fan base who actually attend a game or two or three. They will play without fans in the seats as long as the game is televised and thus bringing in the money. What do you know? They figured out that belonging in a conference just actually does that.
Who would have thunk it!!!
We put a teenie-weenie name on the front of the jersey with a lager conference logo also on the front , with the customary NIKE swoosh and on the back we put the word ARMY. What the hell, we all know its Army so what is the reason for that?
Put their names on the back so we know who is who and what is what !!
And how about a darker color gold on the pant with a black stripe on the outside of the pant and also a brighter gold on the helmet. Gee, we could put actual gold on the helmet like Notre Dame does.
You see guys, I can ACTUALLY talk about just three topics other than this poster says I can write about.
Maybe a 100 more? Sure. Being an Army fan for nearly 80 years gives me the experience of just doing that.
Its a perk that I believe I actually earned over the years.
Some of you don't know what good really was. This year I am proud of our team. They are wonderful. I am greatly pleased.RABBLE wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:27 pmBack in my day? True.RABBLE wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:21 pm Number 4?

3 national championships
Number 2 in 1950
Number 3 in 1958
A half dozen Lambert Trophies.
Back in my day, things were pretty damn good.
