We aren't even going to hit the O/U of 44.

What a boring offensive result.

Good methodical win. Glad to see Daily walk off with the win. Not sure why La Tech was so chippy in the 2nd half.

I had to turn the sound off part way through 2nd half because of the way the announcers were way overdoing the praise heaping about Army, Daly, Monken, cadets commissioning as 2nd LT’s etc. It just became obnoxious and quite frankly nauseating. ESPN sucks.

My humble reactions:

- Didn't mind all the praise by the commentators, including "Hoorah" now and then and references to Captain America. Appreciated it.

- Thought Reed played like a man possessed. We did not miss Udoh, especially the Udoh 2.0 who played uninspired (imho) vs navy. Reed is a powerful and shifty runner. He could be our "Brad Roberts" next year. Together with Smith and Rendina, we should also be okay with backfield blockers.

- Our kicker, unfortunately, had his head up his rear all night. Kickoffs were an utter disaster, either short or out of bounds, and he missed his only FG, which was not a tough shot. Hope we can find another Maritski-icewater type next year.

- After LaTech opted to recieve the opening ko, which was not a bad decision if you're playing an Army Team that takes forever off the clock, and then after our D held 'em to 3 and out, then the first Army possession was the best offensive football I believe I have ever seen us play. We were literally shredding 'em with 10-yard, 12-yard, 15 yard gains, up the gut and on the perimeter. Whatever Cody called went for huge gains. BEST BLOCKING PERFORMANCE EVER. Pancakes galore. The next 2 possessions also ended in TD's for us, but we had to overcome many 2d and longs, 3d and longs, and at least 4 fourth-downs. But that first drive was pure, sheer dominance.

- Daily had another magnificent running game, and thrilled that he set a record for TD's by a QB (passing a squid was gravy), but his passing was not that great. He hit 2 good throws, as I recall, one for an important 1st down and another for a huge gainer to the TE, and another one was dropped for a sure td, but he also threw way too many off mark or into tight coverage. It wasn't characteristic for a guy who was so accurate most of the year. But back to his run game: He is just a relentless beast. He is inspirational. I dunno how we replace him. Short answer is we don't. We can't. So QB 2, 3 or 4 is gonna have another skill set that we utilize. We can't to another Tyler-type who runs 35 times. Only Daily could do that...

- HUGE credit once again to Nate Woody. His D held em to 2 field goals for crissake! That is exemplary, I don't care WHO you're playing.

- All and all, it sure covers up the pain of our last Independence Bowl experience, right P&D?... :D :D
