Re: AAC
Just my $0.02:
I can easily envision a setup like the UK soccer leagues - A league, B league, C league etc. with the best teams moving up and the worst moving down. I look for the NCAA to do away with conferences (pesky middlemen taking too big a slice of the pie). What do conferences even mean anymore when UCLA vs Rutgers is considered a Big 10 matchup?
Based on what I saw last week, Army has no place in an A League. It would have apparent a year ago if Tennessee had not backed out.

Yeah, that was a great idea berry; let's run a pro offense with guys who have 1% pro ability....
What'd we win, like 13 games out of 80? Nightmare...
Now we're in AAC with some kinda "gun" shit. The season ain't over, and there's still 5 games left for Thatcher to prove this works, and I hope like hell he can. I really do. But then, like I said before, I hoped basement biden could not possibly ever be elected, especially with an incompetent vp. So my real-life self expects us to lay more eggs after UMass, and give us a turd for a holiday gift.
We can compete in the AAC, or anywhere else, if we run an af-style, under-center triple down their freaking throats. Hello!!! Is anyone out there???
(This is the worst part: I'm really afraid that JM wont' ever even consider adapting an af-style, under-center triple - like Jim Young did - because of his apparent mutual animosity with Calhoun.)

Re: AAC
I am not going to get into a spitting contest with a snake. I guess you know more than their coaches and reporters that cover their team. If you watched them you would know they run a large number of plays out of the shotgun. You have no idea what you are talking about. This new offense was the greatest thing ever at the beginning of the year and now after 7 games you hate it.ARMORMAN wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 1:45 pm Hey Roadkill,
Suck on this for starters:
At the Air Force Academy our offense is based on the execution of 1) the triple option, 2) counters from the option and 3) a one-on-one action passing game. Our basic theory is to take advantage of whatever the defense gives us.
That's taken from the AFA media guide.
Or try this, from AF Football, Peak Perspective:
Most of you know that the Falcons employ a triple option attack as their primary scheme.
Number 2:
I do watch AF play, almost every week. That's how I know what they run. Why don't you try not showing your ass.
Out.

Re: AAC - scheduling for a 14 team league ?
So have to move forward with this decision. Listened to Coach on the 7pm Army Football show today and he emphasized the new opportunity for the conf Champion moving on to a bigger bowl / playoff.
Anyway how do 14 teams play without East/West conferences? Maybe you all knew ... but i didn't.
https://theamerican.org/news/2022/11/9/ ... asons.aspx
Thought we would just take SMU's slot, but evidently A/N will never play during the season (unless ranked 1,2 - then play for the ship) so this scheduling will likely get tweaked.

Re: AAC
One play? By that logic we still run it. Why don’t you go on the Air Force board and ask them if they still run the option. They will be the first ones to tell you they don’t. But you know more than everybody.prideandream wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 8:29 pmReally?ArmyRoadFan7 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 1:25 pmAir Force doesn’t run the option. Re: AAC
Wishful thinking. I believe you got it backwards. The conferences are gonna get rid of the NCAA.Armyfaninpa wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 7:03 pm Just my $0.02:

Re: AAC
Oh so by "they" you meant the guys on the Air Force board. That one play by the way is run consistently in every game. It is the basis of their offense. Running the triple doesn't mean you run the same damn play over and over and over.ArmyRoadFan7 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 9:29 pmOne play? By that logic we still run it. I don't know more than everyone but when you make outlandish claims with no supporting facts it's hard to take you serious. I'm happy to have the debate if you want but my gut tells me you'll either not engage, not provide a legitimate argument supported by any kind of facts, or resort to name calling.
Here watch this. It will help you catch up with what's actually going on at Air Force in their offense.

Air Force Center Talks Triple Option Offense
This poor guy thinks they run the triple option too. Maybe he needs to go talk to the guys on the message board and get straight on what exactly they run out there.

Re: AAC
Dr Lou Cella:Air Force is 6-0 and What Their True Identity is in 2023
Dr Lou Cella is gonna be really disappointed to hear that Air Force isn't running the triple option anymore. Air Force runs triple 4 or more times a game. It is the basis of what they do. Everything else is built off of it.

Re: AAC
For all the reasons cited I see no good coming from this. It is Cusa re-visited. How does the AD know Army football like some of us do. This seems to be an escalation of a social event for a few grads and the south end emptier than ever. The people in Syracuse were overwelming. They are mot going to Tulsa or UAB. If Texas is our main recruiting area not a lot of Texas schools. No Georgia schools, correct me if i am wrong. VERY BAD DECISION.
