Game over. Disappointing loss after a great start against a good team. Offense just disappeared in the second half.

Had to work. I guess I didn't miss anything.

In a Post-game interview, the Syracuse QB Shrader was asked “what was the difference in the 2nd Half?” He said, “we just made the routine plays”. In other words, despite a terrible 1st half, they kept sticking with their game plan. We came out timid in the second half on O & D, didn’t establish the run north and south, started running east/west, started passing more, and deeper, then progressed into desperation. They ended up with shorter fields, wide open receivers on blown coverages and more. Monken, Thatcher and Woody need to look in the mirror. Not for not losing the game to a good team, but for unforced errors in judgement, play calling and composure starting with the 2nd half kickoff. It didn’t look like they believed the “routine plays” of the 1st half could be replicated, so they didn’t even try to make them.

Syracuse was more than willing to give us a quick painless death. Our coaching staff decided to make it slow and painful and call timeouts and throw the ball in the last 3 minutes down 19 points and got another couple guys injured, Real smart. You got to know when to hold’em and know when to fold’em.

Syracuse recruits in a different bucket than we do. They get players who consider top 20 to top 50 schools...We get players who go to Div 1A schools if they dont go to a service academy, even Ivy League.....It showed in the second half....they were just better than Army today.

No. This is absurd. While I wonder what happened to our offense in the second half, we had one series where we ran three times for little gain and a punt. I wonder why we quit pounding off tackle. Buchanan probably should have gotten 20 carries in this game.
