Thanks for posting these old articles. I especiially enjoyed this one about Red Blaik's departure. He was very close to Douglas MacArthur in 1950's who was living at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. In the early 50's, Coach Blaik sent Vince Lombardi, QB Coach, to the Waldorf to brief the General on the past and upcoming games.

Interesting to read about Blaik's disappointment with the bowl ban. This played a big part in his decision to resign. Even in the 60's, the NYT covered every detail of Army football. It was the Army beat reporter. Every cadet had to subscribe and read the NYT. And it was a big part of the "4th class system".

After the 1965 season posting of the games to that point, I will begin to post the commentary over the years of various beat reporters covering the Army team. You will be able to get a clear insight that went on with the program over the years from a clear opinion of some of these great reporters of the past from an independent point of view and not associated with the academy or under their employ.
