It will be a hard sell for sure.

Not to mention Monken lacks major upsets on his resume.
I'm afraid to ask - but will beating Navy be considered a major upset?
Maybe to us, but Nebraska fans would want more.

Rhule isn't going to Nebraska.

Which puts Monken right in the crosshairs.
As guessed, Leipold stays at KU

Nebraska will hire Joseph before they sign Monken. Our biggest threat is that they hire NC State’s Doreen.

Why would an AD hire monken over ken or Calhoun? Ken has several big upsets under his belt and on the cusp of beating us 3/4 years.

I’m skeptical anyone would be hiring monken this year.

Another name allegedly now in the mix @ NE. Though the piece is recent it doesn’t mention the apparent front runner Leipold is staying at Kansas…

Sal and company talk about bowl eligibility on their recap of the UConn game. As I recall it is possible, assuming we win out, but not likely. There would be something like 6 teams ahead of us on the list of non bowl qualified teams that can go if all the spots aren’t filled with eligible teams.

Comment from one poster on a Nebraska FB site:

"HuskerRick

Anyone who has actually watched an Army game would be horrified at the idea of Monken to NU. Offense is pathetic junior high parody of the triple option. Defense plays well."
