CFN published predicted win totals for 2023 as of spring practice.

Some highlights for SA’s:

Army: 7-5
Wins: ULM, Delaware State, Troy, UMass, Holy Cross, Coastal Carolina, Navy.
Losses: UTSA, Syracuse, Boston College, LSU, AF
If it happens, this prediction would mean no CIC and no bowl (2 wins vs. FCS), but a win vs. Navy.

AF: 9-3 with the CIC

Navy: 4-8

I predict 7-5 too

1 of 2 fcs counts, so we would be bowling

Roger that. My bad.

Winning record, win against Navy, and a bowl game wouldn’t be a bad season, particularly if our new offense shows some promise.

Even if we go 6-6 with two FCS wins, we would probably be bowling due to open slots. But definitely not a guaranteed situation.

Is Air Force supposed to be that good again? Aren’t they graduating all the 5th year seniors that took the Covid turn back? I really don’t know, but I was told they might have an off year this year.

The article didn’t include much rationale, but here are the details on the wins and losses for AF:
Robert Morris, (FCS), W
Sam Houston, (FCS), W
Utah State, (6-6), W
San Jose State, (6-6), L
San Diego State, (8-4), W
Wyoming, (6-6), W
Navy, (4-8), W
Colorado State, (4-8), L
Army, (7-5), W
Hawaii, (4-9) W
UNLV, (5-7), W
Boise State, (9-3), L

This forecast gives AF wins against:
FCS Teams: 2
6-6 Teams: 2
Losing Teams: 3
Winning Teams: 2 (Including Army)
Total Wins: 9

In comparison, Army’s forecasted wins are:
FCS Teams: 2
Losing Teams: 3 (ULM, UMass, Navy)
Winning Teams: 2 (Troy, Coastal Carolina, both Sun Belt)
Total Wins: 7

For what it’s worth, here’s how CFN rates strength of schedule:

Army: #107 of 133, 26 teams have a more difficult schedule
Air Force: #122 of 133, only 11 BCS teams have a more difficult schedule
Navy: 95 of 133
