Re: Successful Spring Sports
Baseball team set a record for Patriot League wins with 21. Swept all 5 games against Navy.
Men’s lacrosse team was supposed to be rebuilding this season but made the tourney and plays a beatable Maryland this weekend. Great team with a great future.
Women’s lacrosse team beat multiple ranked teams for the first time in history, beat Navy twice, and made the tourney for the first time in its short history. Brigid Duffy (who also plays soccer) was the Patriot League rookie of the year. Fellow plebe Allison Reilly scored 9 goals against Navy which seems like it should be a record if it isn’t. Future looks bright on the women’s side as well.

Congrats to the successful teams. Also, congrats to Mike Buddy. Hard to know all of the inner workings, but you have to acknowledge the broader success we are seeing.

Re: Successful Spring Sports
Hope you didn’t miss the men’s lacrosse game in round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. We knocked off the defending champs 16-15. The difference was goalie (Fort) Knox Dent who is finishing the season on a bad knee. Maryland had the advantage virtually everywhere else (face offs were pretty even) but Dent’s saves kept us in the game. 11 different players scored goals for Army. Names I hadn’t heard all year were ripping the net in the absence of injured players.
Next up is Penn State (In Annapolis) with the winner advancing to the final 4. Looking at mutual opponents, Penn State beat a Cornell team that beat us and lost to Maryland. Hopefully we get a couple guys back that were hurt in the Patriot NA league tournament, especially Paul Johnson.
This is supposed to be w rebuilding year for Army lacrosse but their “next man up” mindset has been fun to watch. These guys could do some special things for the program in the next couple years.

We were grabbing some barbecue for dinner and I looked up and saw Army lacrosse on TV. Awesome exposure and a heck of a game.
This article was in my news feed and details the obstacles this team has had to overcome this year. They beat the #4 seed team with many men injured. Made me proud to be a grad.
