AF Forum Reaction to New Army O SI Article
I always find it interesting to see what the Zooms have to say. Here is a link to the thread where they are reacting to the SI article on Army going to a new offense. They also mention several times that they haven’t been a true TO team for a while and haven’t used the cut block for years.

Interesting to read. Thanks for the link.
While looking over the AF forum site, I found a publication on AF Football 2023 season that provides information on their upcoming team and season including depth chart and roster.
Is such information available for the 2023 Army team?

Re: AF Forum Reaction to New Army O SI Article
The reality is that Air Force has not been like Army athletically for decades. They were doing things in the 1980's, like overloading on freshman and using the prep school as a recruiting tool. I remember when I was at WP in the 1990's, there were like this whole crew of "assistant coaches" that were AF football players that essentially never even served in the AF. They just graduated and coached.
Meanwhile we got a bunch of yahoo's running around Army saying "oh its okay we lose, we have bigger battles to fight" while we go 1-11 every year.
And we just saw it again when they basically covid redshirted 40's players.
So, screw them, really don't care about anything they think.

The official Army site just lists everyone on the team. That link is below.

Here is a site with a 2-deep roster. It’s not official, but it’s a start.

Re: AF Forum Reaction to New Army O SI Article
I'm hugely encouraged to read that T-Rob is listed as first team RB on the offense as well as first team PR and KOR on special teams; however, I also just watched Joe Iacano's interview with Drew Thatcher:
https://n.rivals.com/news/gbk-exclusive ... _vf8Lkzkid
Drew was non-committal regarding T-Rob's recovery status, stating that it was all up to the trainers as to when he can resume full football activities. Soooo, fingers crossed that he is good to go for camp.
Otherwise, we remain extremely impressive in all position groups! Maybe the best set of power/speed RB's in memory, best WR/TE tandem in memory, and a huge, strong, deep O-line. Of course QB still a question, but there's enough evidence among the contenders to be more than hopeful.
On D, almost the same kind of credentials, with strength, size and skill on the line; same-same with our backers and secondary. All very impressive!
Kickers? Well, we still got the kid who beat navy.
Now, if we can just stay healthy.....but that was a hoped-for benefit of the new offense as well. Less injuries...
Glass half-full in my book.

One thing mentioned in the interview that I was not aware of is that we are going no huddle. Not sure what the implications are, but it was news to me.

Re: AF Forum Reaction to New Army O SI Article
As I read through the comments on the original post, I noticed ltcpilot had his usual snarky comment about Army. (I remember him posting on Army boards in the past.). This time it was directed at Monken being a "jerk." I wonder what his problem is? I guess their panties are in a bunch because Army has a coach that doesn't represent an automatic win on their schedule every year?

The attitude of most on that AF forum has been hostile to JM since he started, often ridiculing him as “Tough Guy Monken” or something similar. I find that curious given the lack of sportsmanship often seen from the AF side, including the flipping the bird incident, slow walking the alma mater, and TC’s non handshake.

A lot of Air Force fans got bent out of shape when Monken said “not that tough” at the White House when Trump said that Air Force team is pretty tough. The majority of the Air Force fan base has a crocodile mouth and a hummingbird ass.WrekDivr wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 7:02 pm The attitude of most on that AF forum has been hostile to JM since he started, often ridiculing him as “Tough Guy Monken” or something similar.
