Looking at each member:
UAB: Don't care
ECU: 6/10 interest
FAU: Whatever
Memphis: This isn't basketball
Charlotte: HAHAHAHAHA!
North Texas: A poor man's UTSA. I still remember the screw job their refs gave us in 2017. The 52-49 game where they weren't called for anything and we were called for everything. No thanks.
Rice: Prestigious school. A semi-sort of rivalry. 7/10
South Florida: Eh.
Temple: Local team. Some level of history with them. 8/10
UTSA: Up-and-coming program but again no history with them. Still, 7/10
Tulane: Similar to Rice except Tulane has 1998 and 2022 in the last 40 years. 8/10
Tulsa: I respect them. They are tiny but they punch hard. But that is not enough to share a conference. 7/10
Navy: We play them already and the Army-Navy Game would remain non-conference.
There are two schools worth joining the conference for but if we really need to play Rice and Temple, we can schedule them.
The original AAC had something special. The conference now is mostly picked over leftovers and never-weres. They need us more than we need them. What our AD should be doing is pitching for more noon slots on CBS. If the AAC wants to give us a Boise State-MWC sweetheart deal, then maybe, then otherwise tell them no.
