AF Discussion Board Comments

Thought I'd lurk a little at the AF board to see what their folks had to say after the game. A few gems:
1) Agree—Army already had the momentum with their opening drive score and then you double that with a lame call on 4th and 1 deep in your own end. I think it shows AF didn’t respect their opponent and they got hit with some karma. What’s the Mike Tyson quote—“Everybody has a plan until you get hit in the mouth?” Army came out swinging and blocked Air Force’s counterpunch. After that it was all rope-a-dope. Larrier was atrocious but the tone was set by the first two series.
2) They may have been over-confident or distracted by all of the recent accolades. Our offense in my view did have the talent and ability to beat the Army defense. I do not think anything was exposed, except a lack of mental preparation and discipline. We absolutely could have beaten Army had we had half of their desire.
3) I just couldn't watch the 4th quarter. This was the WORST single game AF performance that I've witnessed in 50 years! Horribly out coached. Horrible execution. And sticking with A QB who obviously was not 100%...insane. I am emotional, upset, and pi$$ed off. I will recuse myself from these boards until after next weeks win. No sense in posting my emotional clap trap!!!!
LOOKS LIKE OUR WEAK SCHEDULE WAS EXPOSED TODAY!!!! That's laid on Cahoun's doorstep! We cumulatively read too many of the media articles espousing how great we were (they just wanted a feel good story!)....without analyzing our previous opponents. (The clue was when the playoff committee listed us as 25 and not 17!!!) Sorry but we are just a middle of the road AF team with a LOUSY SOS and a hurt QB....
Prognosis? We lose two of the final three games, and miss the MWC championship without some significant changes. Potato bowl anyone?
