We've just lost Champ Harris and Tano Letuli

As per Sal----both players are transferring.
Army, Navy and Air Force Academy sports

Seems a good idea to have a QB around who can throw the ball when you need to. Having one-dimensional QBs has caused us plenty of problems when Army gets behind the chains or behind on the scoreboard. We threw 14 times against Navy, so I don’t think the coaches agree that we aren’t going to do that.prideandream wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:30 pm IMO not a loss. Champ Harris wants to throw the ball. This year proved we aren't going to do that.
We can be a bit more gracious when young cadets decide to depart the pattern. They do so for a variety of reasons: depression caused by the grey days of winter, academics, some decide Army life isn’t for them, etc. A large percentage of folks who leave do so between end of plebe year and beginning of cow year, so this is the right time to do it and avoid further commitment. FB players are a small percentage of those who choose to leave, so we probably should just wish them well.RABBLE wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:57 pm Ah !! That transfer portal !!
You want to play somewhere else??
Sit out a year and watch the grass grow.
Then you can play some football.
I'm tired of some of these clowns going to the academies, wasting their time and our tax dollars and going someplace else. Let them pay back every damn nickel we spent on them.
And this NIL rule. Drop it and just smile in a mirror, intake all your charm, and go out and just play for the school of your choice and drop the bull dust.
OK, I am not so gracious. Tell the kid to pay back in dollars for the education he already received. Any other kid pays for his education. I am not so soft when somebody bails. When he pays, then I will wish him well.kfan12 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 2:01 pmSeems a good idea to have a QB around who can throw the ball when you need to. NIL has little to nothing to do with these guys in any case, they don’t have NIL recognition to sell coming off the bench at Army.
Fortunately, or unfortunately from your perspective, Cadets do not incur an obligation before they start their third year, and apparently that isn't being enforced with any vigor at the moment in any case. Hard to say football players should incur that commitment even though no one else would.RABBLE wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:39 pm.

Nobody gets a free lunch in this world. NOBODY.
