Army Men's Lacrosse is currently undefeated and ranked #3 in the most recent media poll. There is no dominant team in men's lacrosse and Army has a competitive team to compete for a national championship. Coach Alberici has done an excellent job in recruiting, coaching and retaining his team.

Also a young team. Lafayette came to play on Sunday and hung around into the 4th quarter. Army finished strong though after a short week and big win against Syracuse last Wednesday in the Orange Dome.

Awesome to see the success of the LAX team. Last year, my wife and I were having BBQ and I looked up at the TV and saw the Army LAX team playing in the playoffs. It was great to see!

Entering this weekend Army was ranked #2 in Coaches Poll and # 3 in media poll. Teams ranked above undefeated Army lost this weekend and Army has an excellent chance to be ranked #1 in both polls when the new polls come out.

To the extent we are ranked No. 1 tomorrow, does anyone know when the last time Army was ranked 1 in any major/semi-major sport?

1969 Army lacrosse shared national championship with Johns Hopkins. That was before NCAA started playoffs to determine national champion.

You are correct Grasshopper. Constant 69 and I can personally attest to that. So could Charlie Jarvis, if that beautiful man were still with us. He played midfield on that Championship team (in addition to a little football every fall....)

Amazing thing is that Army has risen to the top of the rankings with no transfers and no graduate students. Every other top program has lots of both.
