2024 Over/Under Win Totals

According to Fanduel, regular season over/under win totals:

Army: 6.5
AF: 6.5
Squids: 5.5

I am expecting (hoping?) is to do a little better, but if we go over 6 and win the CIC, it would mean a bowl and be an improvement over the last 2 years.

2023 record in parentheses

Lehigh W
FAU (4-8 in 2023) W
Rice (6-7) W
Temple (3-9) W/L
Tulsa (4-8) W/L
Both of the above Games are away, and we are going to lose 1 of the 2. We always have that crappy game once we get into mid-season blues. We'll be 4-1 after 5 games

UAB (4-8) W
ECU (2-10) W
Air Force (9-4) L (we've gotten lucky a few times last few years. not this year)
North Texas (5-7) W
Notre Dame (10-3) L (ummm..no)
UTSA (9-4) L (read that UTSA had the best G5 team with regard to transfers coming in)
Navy (4-8) W

I think 8-4 overall, and we'll go to a bowl game. We got a really really good AAC schedule--out of the top 5 teams in 2023, we don't play 4 of them.

If we have a really bad year I still think that is 6-6 and a lower level bowl game.

Solid team by team review, wpgrad. We do get AF at home this year, so that should help our odds on that one.

Concur with 8-4 as a realistic prediction. I like wpgrad's breakdown but would probably say one of those with a "W" by it will be an inexplicably frustrating loss and their will be a correspondingly happy upset...perhaps AF or UTSA to counter it.

I don't do indiv game predictions; however, I think wpgrad's forecast is reasonable. 8 and 4 is actually my bottom line expectation, because I'm really bullish on our potential. Frankly, imho we have arguably the best under-center triple option roster maybe ever. That's a bold statement with memories of McAda, Bradshaw, Woolfolk, Buchanan, Holland and many others; however, I stand by it because especially in EVERY "middle" position - which is the heart and soul of the under-center triple - we have the potential to match our best ever on this one team:

At center (and only a yearling!) we have Brady Small who's getting pre-season honors already.
At qb, we have Bryson Daily, who can be as good a triple runner/distributer as Bradshaw/McAda.
At B back we're freaking loaded, with Udoh, Rendina, and Reed. RAW POWER to spare.
And at slot, maybe the best game-breaker ever in Tyrell Robinson (if he stays healthy).

Btw, the rest of our O line ain't too shabby either with a helluva lot of size and experience.

Finally, as an added bonus, we may just have the best under-center triple option Offensive Coordinator ever, if Costal Carolina last year is any indication. And that is HUGE, because it doesn't totally matter if the players have great potential....somebody's gotta read the defense, make the calls, and not be so "fumble-averse" to never pitch and/or throw an occasional high-percentage, defense-loosening skinny post or wheel...

Defense has several studs to build around, including Gerena, DiDominico, Fortner, etc. I'm not as bullish on that side of the line, but if our triple performs to potential, we can be ARMY of OLD; i.e. long, sustained drives that keep our D off the field.

So bring it. Nobody on our schedule looks unbeatable, if we bring our A game with no let-downs. Not even the NBC irish, whom we still owe big-time from '95. That one's circled on JM's calendar.....guarandamntee it.

Agree, Armorman. Our O should be strong this year. If that proves to be true, our D should be able to hold as our TOP will give them an edge as all the new folks get settled in.

Always interesting to see the predictions. Personally I don't make them.

I am excited to see us back under center and I hope that Udoh stays healthy and carry's the ball from the fullback spot a lot!

My only concern right now is going 1-0 vs Lehigh.

I'll worry about FAU on Saturday August 31st.

We go 10-1.
But we play 12 games?
10 and 1 is only 11 games?
-----------------------------------
I don't count money games where we have Notre Dame on the schedule where the home team has 90% of the fan base, is located a1,000 miles away from home and the away team is located 50 miles from where the game is being played and is being played on a baseball field and in a town where nobody really gives a damn about college football unless the team is Notre Dame.
My conclusion is, why the hell are we playing them in the first place?
Except for a loss on the field and a win at the bank.

This game has not been relevant since 1958, a mere 64 years ago.
It's like Georgia playing Ouachita College.

As usual, we sell out again. :? :? :? :? :? :?

For chrissake will you stop BABBLING!

Everyone who reads this forum has heard your opinion ad nauseum. You're not changing anyone's mind by repeating yourself over and over and over, savvy??? NO ONE is gonna step up and say, "OK, after hearing this same tired opinion 38 times, I'm now suddenly convinced."

There ARE those in Army Nation who appreciate this game, ESPECIALLY THE PLAYERS. Write to one or two if you want proof. They and we love the tradition, the glamour, the challenge and the history. Great competitors WANT to be measured against the best. This year in particular is a celebration of one of the most storied college football games ever played. You do know that, right?? You DO realize that this is the 100th Anniversary of the famous "4 Horsemen", immortalized by Grantland Rice?? Army/Notre Dame still evokes incredible memories and is a living example of 2 of the most beloved programs ever...

Yeah, it'll raise $$ as well. So the hell what? You think we can't use a little infusion in this day and age when everybloodyone else is getting corporate sponsors and NIL donations????

Finally, NO ONE appreciates your endless pessimism and your foregone conclusion that we will lose. Upsets happen. Underdogs rise up and smite down the favorites. We came within a yard on the last play of the game in '95, when we were 30 point dogs and given no chance by "experts" and pessimists. Furthermore, both the squids and zooms have beaten ND multiple games in recent decades. If our under-center triple turns into a turf-grinding machine this year and they make a mistake or 2, then it could be the "Marquis" upset that's the only absence in JM's otherwise incredible resume.

So chill the hell out and stop BABBLING.

We still have to count it Rab! While the odds aren't good, We can't do anything we don't try. It's on the schedule, so let's give em hell.
