While I do not like Army being in a conference as teams get accustomed to playing the option several times a year - this article thinks (at least this year) it could be a plus. Also wonder how long A-N game can be a standalone…

I have less concern than maybe ten years ago because many of these teams are losing so many players each year to the portal the new players have no idea how to play Army. It is not uncommon for teams to lose 30 or 40 players EACH year.
I do not see any way that Army Navy stays a standalone past the current contract that ends in 2027. My guess is it will be moved to the last week of the AAC regular season and will count as a conference game
