Bryson Daily benefitting from being in the AAC this year as he is getting a lot more media attention thanks to this 7-0 run and potential AAC championship game. However, as it says in the article we likely need to beat Notre Dame and go undefeated to really get the votes needed for Daily to have a real shot at the Heisman. But as other candidates falter it is nice to see even as a long shot Army and Daily are getting attention.

I agree this is great stuff to even speculate on. Even if Daily was in the top 3 vote getters it would be amazing exposure. If Ashton Jeanty breaks Barry Sanders single season rushing record he is a lock for the Heisman IMO, as he should be. Daily Will most likely break Mayweather’s yard total when he came in 10th place in voting. Daily is way ahead of his TD production and the 1990 Army team was only 6-5 which obviously hurt Mayweather. Honestly it’s crazy we are even having discussions like this. Hope it continues…

We have no game scheduled this week. We do not have a bye. Let the uninformed talking heads make that mistake.
It is like listening to them in basketball season when they talk about a player elevating.

Similar to the round-robin context, in league sports with weekly regular-season play such as gridiron football or rugby, a team not scheduled to play on a given week or fixture (competition period) can be said to be on its "bye week".[3] Byes are necessary if there is an odd number of teams, but may also be used with an even number of teams, for example to provide rest breaks, as has been done in the National Football League (NFL).

Here are some records Daily has a chance to beat this year -
- Ahmad Bradshaw's single season rushing total (Army season high) from 2017
- Hopkins single season QB rushing/passing totals from 2018
- All time FBS single season rushing TD total set by Keenan Reynolds (finished 5th in Heisman that year)
- Long shot - Army career TDs
and he already owns the Army single season rushing TD title and counting.
But, yes, for him to win the Heisman it will be dependent on the team performance overall for the remainder of the season.

It's shaping up to be a special season regardless...but it would sure be awesome to see him get some Heisman love. Lots of football to play yet...but if somehow Daily led Army to run the table and win the AAC championship, he'd have to be in the conversation as one of the top candidates. That would be the best Army season since 1945 and put Army squarely in the CFP conversation, if not getting an actual invite.
All that being said, I think it's Jeunty's to lose. He's on pace to break the all-time NCAA season rushing record set by Barry Sanders. If he does that, I think he's the clear winner...and of course Travis Hunter could make a few spectacular plays on either side of the ball and remind voters that he's a unique generational talent and come away with the trophy too.
Love that Army's getting the attention it is this year. While we can sit back and enjoy it, I hope Monken and the leaders on the team are keeping the guys focused on the next goal: beating the hell outta the Zoomies!

Daily called by media to discuss potential Heisman. Here he is on Fox Sports with Matt Leinart discussing contention for the Heisman. It is still a long shot but even the media attention coming to Daily and West Point and the whole football program is welcomed.
