In the Brett McMurphy playoff predictions he has Army making it to the playoffs and facing off against Ohio State. Interesting that he has neither Norte Dame or his home team Oklahoma making the playoffs. I guess he is predicting an Army win over Norte Dame.

It looks like he has Army losing in an Ohio State home CFP game, and then doesn’t have them in a bowl game after that.

Norte Dame can break or make an incredible Army football season.

This probably changed with last night’s Boise State victory over UNLV. If Boise St runs the table, they likely get the G5 spot and they’ve made it through the difficult part of their schedule now.

About this epic possibility and sequence, one thought... envision winning the AAC Champs at USMA on 12/7, Beating Navy for a CIC on 12/14 --- and then either:
1) having a much more winnable bowl game a couple weeks later, versus
2) being at Penn State in the CFP first round as prognisticated on 12/20 or 12/21

Bowl game #1 is not too shabby an option

While I would love to just once have Army be in the CFO’s. Given how Boise is playing - a winnable Bowl game not a bad consolation. However, watching Georgia, Texas, Alabama lose makes me think any team even Notre Dame may be beatable. But first beat the Zoomies

Boise State’s win over UNLV made Army’s path to the CFP pretty clear: win out. ND is now a top-10 team with games against FSU (dumpster fire) and Virginia (4-4) before playing Army. If we both win our two games before we play, Army bears ND and we are in. We’ve already closed some of the gap in the polls with BSU (19 and 21 in the Coaches poll). A W vs. a Top-10 team is a better win than anything BSU has. If ND beats Army, then we have a loss vs a top-10 team and BSU has a 3 point loss vs. the #1 team. BSU gets the CFP nod in that case. Of course anything can happen on any given Saturday, but that’s the way it will likely stack up. At least Army can control our destiny.

As others have said, this is a season for the ages and I am enjoying the ride regardless how it plays out.

Learned something new today about the AAC Conference Championship. If both teams are undefeated within conference going into the championship game, the home team is based on strength of schedule. Even if Army wins out it won’t be at Michie unless both Tulane and Navy lose a conference game. One of the will when they play each other.

Army now ranked #2 in that Group of 5 coaches poll. Boise State at #1. Squids dropped from #2 to #6 after their clown show. They are now ranked behind Memphis.
