Good article, thanks. Pretty clear that you can't blame the AAC for this, although I'm sure that won't stop people.

Honestly, I was looking for the status of the coaching search for the teams that are trying to lure JM away and that piece on the bowl came up.

While I mention that topic, this seems to be
the status of those two teams:

UNC: While Belichick is the clear front runner, if that doesn't work out, JM is clearly in the mix though the fact that new candidates have been interviewed suggests that is not the most likely of landing spots for Coach Monken

UWV: Two reports - based on flight records -have JM interviewing for that job either in Morgantown or NYC yesterday. But, the clear front runner for that spot is apparently their former coach Rich Rodriguez. IF not him though, JM may be the next and only option as the other candidates have pulled out. We'll see....

Echo OptionThis: Answers many questions! In particular, it reveals the commitment made by USMA and the feelings of our HC, which are all-important. So here's the deal. This has been an epic season thus far, with 11 wins and an AAC championship. We can either cap it off with an historic 3-peat over the squids and then another great bowl win, or we can whine our way to a 2021-like loss to navy and then who cares about Shreveport.

Man up. Beat navy.

What a puff piece by the local paper.

We allowed ourselves to be tricked by a 5/10 girl.

The Independence Bowl is a dying event in a dying city. Yes, Monken, it is a historic bowl; that doesn't mean it is relevant now. In 1996, they could draw Auburn. In 2024, they landed Marshall.

We had an out and refused to take it because they kept blowing up our DMs.

We could have played Oklahoma! I bet Navy wouldn't allow themselves to engage in rank sentiment.

So we had an opt-out to the game. Disappointing to say the least

I can't imagine UNC's people in charge would "settle" for JM after getting the fan base hyped with Bellichik talk. But WVU would be interesting. I hate hearing about coaches interviewing for and accepting other jobs during Navy week though.
