Re: Army AF 2024 Officially at Michie
100% agree on AF game. I attended both games at Dallas and they were awful. 10am kickoff. 3/4th empty stadium. zero charm or fan atmosphere.
On a different but similar note, by far my favorite army game at michie was returning as a grad for the 96 win which was just awesome. Best atmosphere I ever have seen at michie as a cadet or at the 20 or so games I"ve attended since. 42,000 in the stands. electric

The lack of an AF game at Michie may have also contributed to lower overall attendance as people pass on getting season tickets that include that game. It will be interesting to see what happens this year.

it seemed like we steamrolled everyone that year up to that point, and there was a lot of energy and anticipation going into that. if i remember that game was a late start (i think it was night for the second half).
I really think the game day experience would be better with a 3pm or later kickoff...more time for tailgating, enjoying the parade etc. also i'm pretty sure more people from nyc would come in.
we had a few night games when i was a cadet and the atmosphere was pretty great (tulane and iowa state)

I'd like to see a mix. I was glad to see a 3:30 game on the schedule this year, but then the weather was so lousy it ruined it. Something like four Noon games and two 3:30 games, or even 3 Noon games, two 3:30 games and 1 night game. I'm sure a ton of people will say why they prefer the noon games, but that's my point. Try to have a couple games for those people, and a couple for people where a later kick would work better.Dong Fong '09 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:26 ami remember that game too (I was ten)wpgrad wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 7:44 pm 100% agree on AF game. West Point asked CBSSports to give us the noon start up time all the time.neumanna1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:16 pmI'd like to see a mix. The reason? Who the hell knows. Navy always got the late afternoon window.
They could care less about the fans that have to travel to see the game with an early start. Have the game parade at 9AM so less fans can enyoy the specticle.
By 5PM, the academy is a ghost town. They don't need the staff after that so they can get home earlier for dinner. No need for anybody to miss a meal. They could get upset. Less lighting for a noon start.
Penny wise and pound foolish. Been that way for years.

OK, I'm pissed off. Somebody will ask, they usually do. If you don't like the situation , go someplace else.RABBLE wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 4:33 pmWest Point asked CBS Sports to give us the noon start up time all the time.neumanna1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:16 pmI'd like to see a mix. Why should I ? I am only expressing an opinion on the present course of the future of the progrom which I dearly love and the joining of this new half-baked conference will do us no good as far as the success of the team is concerned. I still feel it is a money grab for what no sensible reason beside it. It will absolutely ruin the great history and legacy of Army Football within a few years and we will wind up just another team out there with little or no identity. We are better than that. WE ARE ARMY.!! WE ARE THE BLACK KNIGHTS OF THE HUDSON!!! Just don't group us with a bunch of nobodies. We should be better than that.
This, just for the money. Sad.
DAMMIT !
I really do not want to harp on this here but I'm really down on all of this. I really am. I will try to keep my bog mouth quiet on this. It doesn't do me or you any good .
