If they get to 6 or 7 and 0 they have a chance to be ranked, no matter who they’ve beaten. The record itself catches people’s attention at that point.

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
It looks like Boise State (4-1, lost to #3 Oregon) is the only non power4 team ranked ahead of Army or Navy (depending on the poll). If they win the Mountain West, Army will have to be ranked ahead of them and win the AAC to make the playoffs.

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
Good to see Army getting votes, they’ve earned them (likewise, so has Navy).
Boise State still has UNLV to play but, if they clear that hurdle, they are probably in the clear and would wind up ranked ahead of both Army and Navy. Helps that they have a heisman candidate at RB too…

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
I would think that If one of Army or Navy wins the AAC and beats Notre Dame, they'll still have a pretty good shot at being ahead of Boise State.ColdWarYushok87 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 11:15 pm Good to see Army getting votes, they’ve earned them (likewise, so has Navy).

If Army or Navy were to run the table, which would be a monumental task, and probablykfan12 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:02 amI would think that If one of Army or Navy wins the AAC and beats Notre Dame, they'll still have a pretty good shot at being ahead of Boise State.ColdWarYushok87 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 11:15 pm Good to see Army getting votes, they’ve earned them (likewise, so has Navy).

would be the greatest season in both schools history. I guarantee they would jump over
Boise State.

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
I hope so, but I don’t think it will be a no brainer. Boise State is currently ranked ahead of Army NOW and their only loss is to (currently) #3 and undefeated Oregon by 3 points on a last-second field goal. Norte Dame is (currently) #11 with one loss. If Army or Navy beats them, they will stay out of the top 10 and might be closer to #20. If Oregon loses a couple or Boise State loses again, then I think an unbeaten Army team gets in easily.hammerdown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 11:08 amIf Army or Navy were to run the table, which would be a monumental task, and probablykfan12 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:02 amI would think that If one of Army or Navy wins the AAC and beats Notre Dame, they'll still have a pretty good shot at being ahead of Boise State.ColdWarYushok87 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 11:15 pm Good to see Army getting votes, they’ve earned them (likewise, so has Navy).

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
All talk about possible scenarios about running the table and playoffs is exciting but I think we are getting
way too ahead of ourselves. One game at a time. Saturday we can win our sixth game and FINALLY be assured of a bowl pick. Do not look ahead to attractive scenarios that are yet not fulfilled.
As coach always says, do not look past our next game. It is the most important game of the season.

Re: Army Getting Top 25 Votes
Great to see us getting votes from the AP and the Coaches.
Correct me if I'm wrong though, the Playoff will be a whole other set of people voting as in the Committee.
So while these two polls might be a decent proxy it is safe to say that the Playoff Committee could have some interesting debates about who they think is the best playoff team. I would think our SOS would hurt us without a win vs ND. Same would be said for Navy.
Just trying to keep all this straight as there are really 3 polls. The AP, The Coaches, and then Ultimately the Playoff Committee. If that is incorrect someone please update me.
But if that is correct then this is the group of people that will decide the fate of whomever gets a shot.
BTW, take a look at this list. At least one very unfavorable vote is in the room.
