If you told me that there would be two scoreless quarters

If you told me on, say, Tuesday, that Bryson Daily would play and carry the ball 36 times.

If you told me that we'd hold a team averaging 41 points per game to 3.

If you told me that North Texas would have the ball for 38 seconds in the 3rd quarter. (I'd probably have assumed that meant at least ONE chunk play for a TD)

If you told me that NT, who haven't yet been able to stop a good high school rushing attack, would hold us under 300 yards on the ground.

If you told me that you held a ticket for an Alternate Total at under 18-----and won. (Thousands, for sure)

If you told me that Jeff was of right mind in passing up the field goal before the half.

If you told me any of the above------I'd have strongly suggested you take up bird watching.

(And I'd be right there with you)

Know what I could have predicted? I could have predicted how lousy the color commentator would be. Nowadays-----with EVERY SINGLE college game televised-----there is a decided shortage of qualified people for the job. (And exactly how many Former All-Americans are there anyway?)

If you rallied late to win a game of two-hand touch in 7th Grade-----pull up a chair. You too, can be an analyst.

Pretty amazing game yesterday. I wasn't really sure what to predict or think. Most surprisingly is holding them to 3 points. Defense has been outstanding two weeks in a row! Kudos to Woody and the defensive staff! They have gotten better and better all year!

Two things I didn't like yesterday: first the fake FG before half Monken knows better. two the fumble by Udoh late. Udoh knows better. But a solid win and probably good we had to fight till the end!

This is a special team for sure. 9-0 is hard to get to. And now they are at the crossroads. Two weeks to make the ultimate history of 10-0! You have to love these guys and how they play as a team!

The fake FG instead of taking 3 points was a real head scratcher and I believe I heard Monken say he regretted the decision and “was hoping my guys bail me out” luckily it didn’t matter and I guess everyone is entitled to a dumb play call. Honestly even if we scored the TD I would have hated that play call.

Army did just what it had to do - convincingly win time of possession. Monken is coaching strictly for the win, not the rankings. Yes, his fake FG try was absurd as he readily admitted.

It wasn’t just the fake FG, it was also the entire sequence leading up to it. If I remember correctly, the defense makes a stop and takes possession inside NT territory with about a minute and a half left in the 2Q with all three timeouts left. A chance to turn a 1 posssession game into a 3 possession game without NT offense taking the field frittered away (army receiving second half kickoff) how many of those timeouts did they take to the locker room with them?

Its incredible to see the athleticism of our defense versus 20 years ago when every game we just seemed “out-athleted.”

To hold that team to 3 points….incredible

And now Army has what any team wanting in the 12-team playoffs wants….an opportunity to win a spot ON the field

Army’s defense has allowed 93 points all season. The next stingiest in the AAC is Tulane and they have give up 187.

What a time to be an Army fan!!! There is just so much about this team to be proud of. I love the way they play as a team - no sense of entitlement, just win.

When we joined the AAC and one of the reasons cited was to get in the CFP, I just chuckled because I thought it would NEVER happen. And here we are. It is simply amazing to me.

Maybe it was all the tough years with my wife begging me not to watch games because it would put me in a bad mood. And me begging the Army team to just show up. Whatever the reason, this is an awesome ride.

Very proud of the Red Zone defense yesterday. Total bend, but don't break. After letting ECU gets a bunch of garbage time TDs, they haven't allowed anyone cross the goal line in 8 quarters. ND's offense is humming right now, so that will present an incredible challenge. I am thankful for the bye to heal up and prep for the biggest game Army has had, outside of rivalry games, in a very long time. When was the last time Army had a ranked vs. ranked game? 1996?
