RABBLE wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:36 pm Yes I was a General manager of a sports team and after a liquor salesman in semi retirement.

As for anything else you post, it is always about me and not about the football program.

Why is that?

I posted quite often about the ND game, some decent parts about the game and some critical about the game. You posted nothing about the game and when you did, it was only about me.

Are you really an Army football fan or do you just want to personally berate me on a public forum?

Listen dude, I know lots of people like you. Get off the kick and act nice. I am not hurting anybody here. Just writing my thoughts.

One more thing, you would be shocked about my sports past but I am going to keep that one a secret to everybody, especially you on this forum.

In conclusion, you are not a fan of Army Football but just a guy who likes to belittle another who actually knows damn little about anything.
What's your Cullum Number????
You don't represent West Point at all in my opinion. West Pointers just don't do that.
We are AMERICA"S TEAM. Play a schedule like we AMERICA"S TEAM. Playing a regional schedule like we now do is just ridiculous, counterproductive and just foolhardy for being the nation's training force for our country.

Happy Thanksgiving! (That is, if it meets with your approval, Mr. General Manager)

Navy has played ND every year since the 1920's (without a single game being played on their home field) and has survived even a 43 game losing streak in pretty good shape. Was it only two years ago that a 4-8 Navy team that had losses to Army and Delaware on their resume lose by a field goal to a 9-4 Irish squad?

I don't understand the defeatist attitude about playing against a team that lost to Northern Illinois.
We're not talking about taking a pounding on a weekly basis like joining a P5 conference here. 9-1 instead of 10-0. End of story.
The ND series gave Navy a guaranteed nationally relevant game every year and probably helped in recruiting. It headlined their non-Army-Navy schedule and when they finally stopped the streak the nation celebrated.

The cancelation of the Army-ND series was devastating to our program. It was a NYC staple and anchored our presence in the City.

Difference of opinion, but i find Navy’s AAC schedule with the same teams year after year to include ND very boring

I’d much rather have the rotation we plan with notre dame, kansas state, syracuse, BC, oklahoma etc

I too do not like this thread either. There are people out there who just post to get under someone's skin. One of these people is doc. The only time he posts here is to mock me and make fun of my past positions in life. I have been thru this many, many times and in my positions in life, I got rid of them as fast as I could. Those types of people become a cancer to the rest of the organization. in my sports career, I got rid of them. It ruins programs and lives. You have all seen it happen on this forum as have I.
Unfortunaly my position now I am unable to because it is not possible as I do not run this board,
However, doc's latest post did NOT wish me a Happy Thanksgiving but to mock me as my position as a General Manager of a team you may or not know but probably you might know and is very active today I might add.
If I had ANY authority, your glutenous maximus would be out the door before you ever said a thing like that in my position.
I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving but I will add, you do NOT represent the vast, vast majority of West Point graduates I do know now and in the past I have come in contact with over the years.

Your words GENERAL MANAGER is a snide, vindictive and caustic comment which is entirely out of place here.
I talk Army Football here with my own opinions. I do not cast aspersions on another posters position in life now or in the past.
You talk Army Football. So will I. Leave me out of your opinions about me on a personal level.
If you do not, it is an indication that you are not a very happy person. Become happy if you wish. I think you may like the idea.

As I said before we got into the AAC conference, what the hell did you all expect? We will get a soft schedule because of the mish-mosh teams with no connectivity at all each and every year in this put-together conflux of mediocrity. Who in hell enjoys playing these same teams every stinking year? You want boredum from now on?

Presenting your Army Football schedule for the next 50 years.

I'm not sure it is productive to fight a change that has already been made. I think it is exciting to be playing the conference championship this year. Certainly didn't hurt SMU. Army's biggest challenges in the last 25 years have been recruiting against the military commitment, which isn't going to change, and building to beat a team that also rarely reaches the top 25- Navy. Now at least we have another measuring stick to recruit against: be at the top, vice bottom, of a conference. And yes, I really did enjoy the variety of teams Army played in past years, but there was simply no way of overcoming this notion that if we just beat Navy it was a successful year. Beating Navy is a given for most of the top 25 of college football, and it is where Army should aspire to be.
