Challenges for Army
Army’s season is at a crossroads. This game is huge for the Black Knight’s season. Army’s challenge to turn this funk around is to win the 3rd down battle with Georgia State. Army’s defense has played well much of the season but the one stat that is hurting the Black Knights is in third down conversions. Army needs to do better on both sides of ball in third down situations, but reducing opponent 3rd down conversions should be a top priority. Opponents are converting nearly half of their 3rd down conversions (47%). A rate like that is not conducive to winning football. Lower that rate to below 40% and Army will likely win more games.
